Collector's Edition Woes
I bought the standard edition of GW ages ago, and have filled up my 4 char slots. I thought now seemed like a good time to get the collector's edition; 4 new char slots, all the junk you get with it (headset, soudtrack etc) and the divine aura. And what's this, GW online says I can associate the CE access key to get divine aura on my current account aswell..
BUT (here's where it all goes wrong) what they didn't tell me is that you can only associate access keys which don't yet have acoRED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GOs. In other words, in order to get the divine aura on my standard edition characters, I'd have to sacrifice the 4 additional character slots that I am surely entitled to by owning 2 copies of the game. GW also states that associating a new key does not free-up your old key for use.
So to summarise: I can choose to have 2 accounts, one standard and one CE, with divine aura on one. Or, I have half my number of character slots, waste the £20 I spent on the standard edition key which won't be returned to me, and spend the entire cost of the CE on nothing more than a small visual upgrade to what I've already got.
I really, really hope I've got that wrong, coz if I haven't then GW has got a totally messed up view of giving customers what they want. I've contacted GW support, as usual just an automated "thanks but we can't be bothered to read this, here's a link which won't help you" reply. My error on entering the CE access key is 103, account key in use.
Can anyone clear up my confusion?
(Note: for the record I'm also not pleased with the substitution of the stated Logitech/GW headset for what can only be described as cheap plastic junk. And also, are CD cases too much to ask when you pay extra for the CE? Oh yeah and the 'hardcover' artwork book isn't hardcover. I feel like corners have been cut at every turn, and I'm thoroughly disappointed).
